The STG11AM manual pipe grooving machine is a manual or power-driven in-place roll grooving tool for installed pipe grooving, and it can be mounted on a power unit. It is designed to be used either in place or with power drives such as the RIDGID 300, RIDGID 300C and REX threading machine; with the appropriate adapter the tool can work with a threading machine, so customers can choose the method that suits the situation. It is designed for 3/4 inch to 8 inch carbon steel pipe, covering a range of pipe diameters to solve pipe problems of different diameters during maintenance. The tool weighs only 12.4 kg (housing only), so it is light and easy to handle, and it is operated using a standard 27mm deep socket and square-drive ratchet. It is equipped with two support arms and one power-drive adapter, so the manual groover can be mounted on the power drive to become an electric roll grooving machine.

Operation Guide

1. Choose the right size pinch roller and knurl wheel; install both wheels to the machine and tighten the screw.
2. Rotate the feeding nut clockwise, put the machine on the pipe and fix it with the handle.
3. Turn the handle 90 degrees clockwise to rotate the feeding nut, take off the handle and insert the drive nut to start grooving.
4. When the machine moves one cycle, use the handle to rotate the feeding nut again, then repeat. (One feeding-nut cycle = 1.5mm; one graduation mark = 0.05mm.)
5. Rotate the feeding nut counter-clockwise to take the machine off.
6. Check the pipe with a PI tape; if the groove depth is not in place, fix the machine on the pipe and repeat until the groove depth is correct.
